CHILDREN
2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class): God's Story Bible (Great Commission)
Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.
The Sunday School curriculum for our K-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically. Each lesson has a short introduction, review of previous learning, a vocabulary word of the week, historical context of the scripture covered that day, and then reading and investigation of the Bible passage. Each week, children receive a bookmark with that week's memory verse.
K - 1st Grade: Matthew chapters 15-28 (One Story Ministries)
2nd - 3rd Grade: The Book of Luke (One Story Ministries)
4th - 5th Grade: Acts 1-14 (One Story Ministries)
YOUTH
High School Teens attend either the adult class or the youth Catechism class below.
Middle School (Gr. 6-8)
We will be studying the 12-part video teaching series Learning to Love the Psalms, featuring Dr. Robert Godfrey, from Ligonier Ministries. This material will be supported by the corresponding Ligonier study guide. Supplemental conversations and highlights will be contributed by the classroom teacher. If your child misses a class due to summer travels, etc., know that he/she can watch it at home through a CTR-linked Ligonier Connect account online (speak to Randen for more information). A useful related home resource to add to your family library is Charles Spurgeon’s Treasury of David, which is a wonderful commentary set for family devotions and independent study. Parents are encouraged to discuss psalmody with their children, and how the Psalms can inform, relate to, and direct us in our daily lives.
ADULTS
Marks of a Healthy Church
This Ligonier Connect course will explore the distinguishing characteristics of healthy churches.
Jesus established the church as the natural arena for our spiritual growth, and our health depends on it. In this course, Mark Dever and Jonathan Leeman survey the marks of a healthy church, where we are called to display God’s glorious character in unity, holiness, and love. We can’t do it alone. You will come away from this study with a greater appreciation of God's purpose for the church and better prepared to support the health of your own local church.
