FALL 2024 QUARTER

Sunday School for ages 2 through adults at 9:30 a.m. before the Worship Service.  Please join us!

[Note:  No Sunday School on September 15 due to the Congregational Meeting.]

CHILDREN

The Sunday School curriculum for our K-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically.  Each lesson has a short introduction, review of previous learning, a vocabulary word of the week, historical context of the scripture covered that day, and then reading and investigation of the Bible passage. Each week, children receive a bookmark with that week's memory verse.

2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class):  God's Story Bible  (Great Commission)

Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.

Pre-Kindergarten-1st Grade:  (One Story Ministries)

This quarter will take the children through the first half of the Book of Genesis (Ch.1-24): the "Book of Beginnings". Genesis provides us with stories of all of our "firsts", including the first days of creation, our first parents, and our first sin.

2nd - 3rd Grade:   (One Story Ministries)

This quarter will cover the book of Joshua. In Joshua, we are struck right away with the clear message that God is in control of the salvation of His people. Even Joshua's name relates the fact that it is God who saves. Children will be reminded of who God is and what His plan is for His people.

4th Grade:    (One Story Ministries)

This quarter covers 1 Kings 1-11 and II Chronicles 1-9, continuing the story of David's reign over Israel. King David is now old, cold and in a near vegetative state. He is ill-equipped to rule over Israel, leaving the door open for his son, Adonijah, to stage a coup and grab the throne. The people of God are at great risk - or are they? Students will be reminded that the sovereign Lord is truly on the throne!

 YOUTH

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

This quarter, the middle school students will begin a slow journey through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They will examine the Bible verses that support each answer and develop a deeper understanding of this important document.

High School (Grades 9-12)

Beginning this quarter and continuing over the next year, the high school class will be studying a high-level overview of the New Testament. This survey study will help the student gain a "big picture" of the New Testament and see how it is part of God's story of redemption in Jesus Christ.

ADULT CLASSES

Joshua    Led by Pastor Jason Wegener and Pastor Billy Hastings

The Book of Joshua serves as an important link between the Pentateuch and the rest of Scripture. In it, we see the fulfillment of God’s promise to the patriarch, Abraham, of a land in which his descendent will dwell. It is a rich land, best known as the Promised Land. But before the Israelites can live there, they must deal with the Canaanites. This study will focus on the details of the text, while considering God’s justice upon sin, His goodness to His often-wayward people, and how there are shadows of the gospel in this rich Old Testament book.

Family Driven Faith    Led by a Rotation of the Elders

Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, anti-family society. This study is based on the book by Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multigenerational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes. God has not left us alone in raising godly children; there is much in God’s Word to equip and encourage parents in this often-daunting task. This book and study is an urgent call to parents―and the church―to return to biblical discipleship in and through the home.
