CHILDREN
The Sunday School curriculum for our PreK-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically. Each lesson has a short introduction, review of previous learning, a vocabulary word of the week, historical context of the scripture covered that day, and then reading and investigation of the Bible passage. Each week, children receive a bookmark with that week's memory verse.
2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class): God's Story Bible (Great Commission)
Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.
Pre-Kindergarten-1st Grade: (One Story Ministries)
This quarter's lessons will take the children through the second half of the Book of Genesis, as well as the Book of Job. Genesis 25-50 will introduce your children to Isaac, Jacob and Esau, and Joseph and his brothers. The stories are rich and full, teaching us much about how God works in the lives of His people.
2nd - 3rd Grade: (One Story Ministries)
This quarter will cover Judges and Ruth. The Book of Judges picks up where the Book of Joshua left off. The Book of Joshua began with the death of Moses. The Book of Judges begins with the death of Joshua. Yet again, Israel is in need of Godly leadership. Will they follow the Lord?
4th - 5th Grade: (One Story Ministries)
This quarter covers 1 Kings 12-22 and II Chronicles 10-20. We begin with Rehoboam, son of King Solomon, ascending the throne of Israel. The people ask him to lessen the heavy yoke that Solomon put on them. Rehoboam rejects the advice of his elders and instead follows the counsel of his friends and tell the people that he will make their lives even harder. The people rebel and follow Jeroboam. Only the tribe of Judah remains subject to Rehoboam. All this happens just as the Lord said it would, as a consequence of the idolatry of Solomon.
YOUTH
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
This quarter, the middle school students will continue a slow journey through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They will examine the Bible verses that support each answer and develop a deeper understanding of this important document.
High School (Grades 9-12)
Beginning this quarter and continuing through this coming summer, the high school class will be studying a high-level overview of the New Testament. This survey study will help the student gain a "big picture" of the New Testament and see how it is part of God's story of redemption in Jesus Christ.
ADULT CLASSES
Christian Contentment Led by Pastor Jason Wegener
What does it take to be content? The world would tell us that all we need is a "little bit more". But this has only led to discontentedness, impatience, grumbling, and many other frustrations. The Bible speaks very differently about this. Just as Paul said he had learned to be content, we too can learn this often evasive quality. We grow in our understanding of it by knowing God and learning to delight in His sovereign goodness and provision. There is effort in the seeking, but there is reward in the effort. So much so, that the Puritan pastor Jeremiah Burroughs called contentment a "rare jewel". Join us in this study as we delve into Scripture, and then consider what modern and ancient authors have written on contentment. We will lean heavily on the writing of Burroughs, and participants are encouraged to read his book The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment.
Union in Christ Led by a Rotation of the Elders
Join us as we explore the transformative doctrine of Union with Christ, taught by theologian Sinclair Ferguson through Ligonier Ministries. This enriching study delves into one of Reformed theology's most vital―yet often overlooked―teachings, examining how believers are united to Christ in both salvation and daily living. Through video lectures, engaging discussions, and practical application, we'll discover how union with Christ impacts our justification, sanctification, and spiritual growth. Whether you're new to Reformed theology or a seasoned student of doctrine, this course will deepen your understanding of your identity to Christ and transform your walk with Him.
