WINTER 2025 QUARTER

Sunday School for ages 2 through adults at 9:30 a.m. before the Worship Service.  Please join us!

CHILDREN

The Sunday School curriculum for our PreK-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically.

2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class):  God's Story Bible  (Great Commission)

Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.

Pre-Kindergarten-1st Grade:  (One Story Ministries)

Exodus 21-40 and Leviticus  The second half of Exodus continues the story of the Israelite’s freedom from slavery in Egypt and their journey through the wilderness, covering the laws given by God, how they are to build the tabernacle and conduct worship, and how they disobey God’s law. Leviticus goes into great detail the laws that govern the Israelite’s lives.

2nd - 3rd Grade:   (One Story Ministries)

2 Samuel 1-12 and 1 Chronicles 1-20  2 Samuel continues the story begun in 1 Samuel. It records how David became king of Israel after Saul's death. Children will learn about the sovereignty of God in establishing the house of David and his reign.

4th - 5th Grade:    (One Story Ministries)

II Kings 22-25, II Chronicles 34-46, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Lamentations  We will continue to learn about Israel's kings, both good and bad, as well as God's prophets. In the prophets, we will be presented with words of God's judgment, as well as His grace. We will see how Judah is condemned for their rebellion and idolatry, but we will also learn of God's plan for the eventual restoration of Israel through the Messiah.

YOUTH

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

This quarter, the Middle School will continue a slow journey through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They will examine the Bible verses that support each answer and develop a deeper understanding of this important document.

High School (Grades 9-12)

The High School class will be continuing their studying of a high-level overview of the New Testament. This survey study will help the student gain a "big picture" of the New Testament and see how it is part of God's story of redemption in Jesus Christ.

ADULT CLASSES

Class 1

Christianity and Liberalism

Do Christians have to change their message to meet the needs of today’s world? This question is as pressing for us as it was for J. Gresham Machen in 1923. With all the modern advancements of the early twentieth century, people wondered about the relevance of the church. Many church leaders set aside foundational Christian truths to create a more socially acceptable faith. This crisis drove Machen to draw a line in the sand with his classic book Christianity and Liberalism. This class is a video series from Ligonier; with helpful in-class discussion of Machen’s book, his life, and how it relates to us today.

Class 2

Spiritual Disciplines

This class offers a practical, Scripture-rooted guide to habits that deepen our relationship with God. Our study is based around the book “Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life” where Donald Whitney, a professor from Midwestern Baptist, explains practices like Bible intake, prayer, worship, and service as pathways to genuine spiritual growth and deeper discipleship rather than legalistic duty. This study will help us to see that spiritual disciplines are God-given tools for joy, transformation, and lifelong discipleship.
