SPRING 2025 QUARTER

Sunday School for ages 2 through adults at 9:30 a.m. before the Worship Service.  Please join us!

CHILDREN

The Sunday School curriculum for our PreK-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically.

2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class):  God's Story Bible  (Great Commission)

Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.

Pre-Kindergarten-1st Grade:  (One Story Ministries)

Numbers and Deuteronomy  In Numbers, Israel’s wilderness journey from Mount Sinai to the edge of the Promised Land is storied, highlighting both God’s faithful provision and the consequences of the people’s disobedience. Deuteronomy records Moses’ final sermons to Israel, renewing the covenant, restating God’s law, and urging the next generation to love and obey the Lord to prepare them to enter the Promised Land.

2nd - 3rd Grade:   (One Story Ministries)

2 Samuel 13-24 and 1 Chronicles 21-29   In the second half of 2 Samuel, children will learn about the consequences of the sins of David and his sons, and the turmoil caused in Israel. However, God is continually faithful to David through trials, repentance, and restoration. 1 Chronicles focuses on David’s later reign, God’s mercy in establishing the future temple site, and David’s preparations and charge to Solomon to build the temple.

4th - 5th Grade:    (One Story Ministries)

Acts 15-28  These chapters record the growth of the early church as the gospel spreads to the Gentile world. Paul’s missionary journeys, trials, and witness is displayed. Despite persecution, imprisonment, and hardship, the Gospel spreads all the way to Rome.

YOUTH

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

This quarter, the Middle School will continue a slow journey through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. They will examine the Bible verses that support each answer and develop a deeper understanding of this important document.

High School (Grades 9-12)

The High School class will be continuing their studying of a high-level overview of the New Testament. This survey study will help the student gain a "big picture" of the New Testament and see how it is part of God's story of redemption in Jesus Christ.

ADULT CLASSES

Class 1

CtR Foundations

Led by the Senior Pastor and a Rotation of Pastors and Elders

The CtR Foundations class gives an overview of who Christ the Redeemer is as a church and why we do what we do―our DNA. We will dive deep into a wide range of topics, including our worship liturgy, the variety of ministries offered, key distinctives of our denomination, and the theological truths that undergird it all. You are highly encouraged to attend if you are new to Christ the Redeemer, new to the Reformed faith, or interested in exploring membership now or in the future. If you’ve been at CtR awhile but simply would like a refresher or want to help engage in discussion, please join us.

Class 2

Pilgrim's Progress

John Bunyan's timeless work Pilgrim's Progress powerfully expresses the truth that the present life is a spiritual journey.  As we shall see, the path of the Christian life is riddled with many trials, dangers, and obstacles. Yet, the journey to the Celestial City is also laden with displays of God's grace and faithfulness. As we begin our study of Bunyan's masterpiece, Dr. Derek Thomas will direct our attention to the City of Destruction, the starting point for Christian's spiritual journey and ours.

Class 3

Marriage

I Still Do: Loving Your Spouse Through the Seasons of Marriage is a Sunday School class based on Dave Harvey’s book I Still Do, exploring what it looks like to build a marriage that not only survives but thrives over the long haul. Drawing on biblical wisdom and honest real-life experience, this class examines the challenges couples face as marriages mature and points them back to the gospel as the foundation for lasting love and commitment — offering practical encouragement for couples at any stage to rediscover joy and keep saying “I still do.
