CHILDREN

2 - 3 Year Olds (Nursery Class):  God's Story Bible  (Great Commission)

Children in the nursery during the Sunday School hour will have a short Bible lesson and some play time. We will be using the God's Story Bible Coloring Book from Great Commission Publications. Each lesson includes a Bible verse or passage that emphasizes Bible truths through the reading of God's word, fun activities, catechism questions, and a coloring sheet.

The Sunday School curriculum for our K-5th grade classes is “Investigating God’s Word” from One Story Ministries. It is a 7-year, comprehensive, Christ-centered curriculum covering Genesis to Revelation in a systematic way. God’s Word is presented chronologically, demonstrating how all the stories and teaching of Scripture connect to one another historically.  Each lesson has a short introduction, review of previous learning, a vocabulary word of the week, historical context of the scripture covered that day, and then reading and investigation of the Bible passage. Each week, children receive a bookmark with that week's memory verse.

K - 1st Grade:     We currently do not have a need for a class for this age group.  Please see Melissa Hagan if you have a child in this age range and would like for them to attend Sunday School.

2nd - 3rd Grade:  2 Samuel 13-24 and 1 Chronicles 12-29   (One Story Ministries)

This quarter is a continuation of what children learned last quarter with 2 Samuel 13-24 and 1 Chronicles 12-29. Children will continue to learn about David and his reign, along with his faithfulness and faults.

4th - 5th Grade:  Acts 15-28  (One Story Ministries)

This quarter we will circle back to the New Testament with Acts 15-28. Children will learn about the fulfillment of the Great Commission as the first churches are formed and the gospel is spread throughout the world.

YOUTH

Middle School & High School (Gr. 6-12)

The Youth Sunday School class will continue studying the Westminster Shorter Catechism, beginning from Q&A 98-107. A major focus of this section is on prayer and what can be learned from Lord’s Prayer. The resource guide is G.I. Williamson’s The Westminster Shorter Catechism: For Study Classes. Parents are encouraged to discuss the catechism assignment in advance of each session. Shorter Catechism pocket guides will supplement class discussion, including proof texts and summary paragraphs for each Q&A.

ADULT CLASSES

CtR Foundations

The CtR Foundations class gives an overview of who Christ the Redeemer is as a church and why we do what we doour DNA. We will dive deep into a wide range of topics, including our worship liturgy, the variety of ministries offered, key distinctives of our denomination, and the theological truths that undergird it all. You are highly encouraged to attend if you are new to Christ the Redeemer, new to the Reformed faith, or interested in exploring membership now or in the future. If you’ve been at CtR awhile but simply would like a refresher or want to help engage in discussion, please join us.

Learning to Love the Psalms

The Book of Psalms is one of the greatest treasures the Lord has given to His people. Through these sacred poems, God has given us a rich songbook and a divinely inspired guide for our prayers. In this Ligonier video teaching series,
Dr. W. Robert Godfrey provides an overview of the Psalms with the specific goal of learning to love them through a study of their themes, structure, and beauty.  We will be using the videos and material from the book with the same title.

Honest Evangelism

Most of us find evangelism hard. There is great hostility towards Jesus. But there is also great hunger for Jesus and there is no greater joy than seeing people come to know Him. Using Rico Tice’s book Honest Evangelism, we will discuss personal evangelism and how to talk about Jesus even when it’s tough.
