Missions

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
—Matthew 28:18-20

In an effort to be faithful to our Lord’s command to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them all that He has commanded us, we seek to develop and strongly support various foreign mission works. We believe the primary vehicle through which God gathers, saves, strengthens, and sanctifies his elect is the local church and the gospel-ministry therein; therefore, the goal of missions is to establish God-glorifying churches that are faithful to Scripture and the Reformed faith throughout the world. To do that we financially support those working directly to plant churches, evangelize, train church leaders, provide medical treatment and help in other vital roles. Frequent contact with and prayer for those serving in the mission field are an important part of Christ the Redeemer’s ministry.

Christ the Redeemer supports a few long-term missionaries through the following organizations:

Additionally, each summer, a short-term mission trip is offered to serve for a week in Monterrey, Mexico. Construction projects, Bible school, and various evangelistic opportunities serve to help those planting churches in Monterrey and in showing and telling others about the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ.

For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
–Romans 10:13-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
—Romans 1:16-17
